Final Fantasy IX - A Place to Call Home (Harp Solo)
The moment this beautiful song comes up on the title screen, I feel as if I am transported into a distant medieval world. It makes me want to sit back in a smooth velvet robe while sipping red wine by candlelight, enjoying the seclusion and tranquility of my castle, until it's completely razed to the ground by Bahamut. Oh well. Had a good thing going there I guess. Composed by: Nobuo Uematsu Arranged & Performed by: Harpsibored With this track completed, I'm pleased to announce that my very first FINAL FANTASY IX HARP ALBUM is about to be finished! Whoo! Will let you all know once it's released. A quick note - the album won't include some beloved bangers like "Roses of May" or "Melodies of Life," but that's because of my wrist injury. I can't do those songs right now, so I've chosen to go ahead and release what I CAN do now as Volume 1, and once I've made enough progress in my recovery, will follow up with those songs on Volume 2 sometime. I appreciate your understanding in the meantime. P.S. - If I've made this song look easy on the harp, my work here is done. I dunno what it is about "A Place to Call Home," but it was really weird and awkward on the harp. Probably those repeated notes and odd intervals. I know that people love to comment that some of the songs I play sound as if they were "meant for the harp," but I am 99% sure this song was NOT meant for the harp haha. But it was worth the struggle. P.S.S. - I hinted that I was doing this song with my blue dress, because 1. The title screen of FFIX is a blue crystal 2. Zidane's outfit is blue, and this song is strongly associated with his desire to find a place he belongs to. All he remembers about his "home" is a blue light.. Sorry to disappoint all of the people who thought it was a Vivi related theme. I can't blame the FFIX fandom however for instantly thinking of Vivi. We must protect him at all costs!
