It is better not to fry fish too hard in hot weather. Sauteing vegetables: Fry the chopped potatoes (and shrimp/patal if you want to add them) in the same oil, stirring lightly. Frying: Fry the black cumin seeds or whole cumin seeds and chopped green chilies in the remaining oil in the pan. Grinding the spices: Mix the cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt with a little water in a small bowl. Grind this mixture in the oil for 1 minute on low heat. Boiling the broth: When the oil separates from the spices, add the fried potatoes and vegetables. Then pour in enough lukewarm water to thin the broth. Cover and let the potatoes boil. Adding the fish: When the potatoes are completely cooked, leave the fried fish pieces in the broth. Add two more green chilies on top and boil for 2-3 minutes.
