The Eastern Orthodox Church claims to preserve the faith handed down by the apostles and to be the continuation of the original church seen in the Bible. So I decided to visit a Greek Orthodox Church for myself. From apostolic succession and holy tradition… to icons, liturgy, the Eucharist, baptism, church history, and theosis — I wanted to investigate whether modern Orthodoxy truly reflects the early church we read about in Acts and the New Testament. Is Eastern Orthodoxy the original church founded by Jesus Christ and the apostles? Or has the church developed beyond the simplicity and teachings of early Christianity?
