Greet A Friendly Stranger: a scared dog exercise
Greet A Friendly Stranger is a shelter program we started at HES for scared and unsocialized dogs to gain confidence in a non-threatening environment at their own pace. Confident dogs are adoptable dogs, and this program, using the treat-retreat method of conditioning, has helped so many shelter dogs get more socialized and eventually find forever homes! Use this program in your shelter or for your under-socialized dogs at home!
