Later facelift models (2010 onwards) may display fault codes if the EGR is blanked off. Copy me at your own risk! ** In this video, I remove the EGR unit from my car. Even though I blanked off my EGR at the throttle body many years ago, I am now seeing error codes and the car keeps going into limp mode. It seems that the valve still needs to operate, even if blanked off, and if the motor fails then the ECU will flag a fault. In part 3, I bypass the cooler and blank off the exhaust manifold.
