Stanislav Neuhaus plays Chopin Piano Concerto no. 1, op. 11 - live 1979

Day 24 and the last day of our Stanislav Neuhaus retrospective -- a performance of Chopin's Piano Concerto no. 1 in E minor, op. 11, with the Belarus State SO under Lev Markiz, live in Minsk on 19 January 1979. Though not in the best quality, this recording is quite important as so few exist of Stanislav playing with an orchestra. In addition to this, there is the Melodiya recording of Scriabin's PC; the breathtaking Rachmaninoff PC 2 which I've uploaded; and a poor sounding mono Beethoven PC 5 with Maxim Shostakovich in Italy in 1973. There is video footage of Stanislav rehearsing Chopin's PC 2 in Moscow, so perhaps a recording of that will appear one day.
