Detonator Jumping and Basic Detonator Guide for Pyro - TF2

This new TF2 Pyro guide is all about Detonator jumping and using the Pyro's Detonator to its fullest capabilities! When players think about the limitations of Pyro in Team Fortress 2 (TF2), they assume that Pyro is an immobile class which relies on close-range damage to be useful. However, Pyro players have access to one of the most fun and unique weapons in Team Fortress 2 (TF2), the Detonator! Using the Detonator, you can jump around any Team Fortress 2 (TF2) map as a Pyro, drastically improving your mobility and surprising enemies who happen to underestimate you! For players who are new to Team Fortress 2 (TF2), the Detonator is a great weapon to practice with as the Pyro. Learning how to jump with the Detonator will encourage you to learn map layouts, discover unique flank routes, and have a lot of fun speeding around the map and catching enemies! The Detonator is also primarily used as a reliable secondary weapon by many Pyro players in Team Fortress 2 (TF2) due to its medium and long-range capabilities. Pyro players can even use the detonation to remove Demoman's sticky bombs and sticky traps, further showing how the Detonator is a valuable and useful secondary weapon for both beginner Pyro players as well as experienced Pyro players in Team Fortress 2 (TF2)! In Team Fortress 2, the Pyro is usually considered to be slow and immobile, and many players see him as just a WM1 bot. However, there’s lots of ways to express your skill as Pyro and one of the most fun ways is Detonator jumping and flanking using the Detonator, which is in my opinion one of the most fun weapons in TF2 and certainly my favourite weapon for Pyro! In this Team Fortress 2 Pyro guide, let’s learn all about how, where, when, and why you should start using the Detonator, how you can use it to its fullest potential, and how the Detonator can improve your Team Fortress 2 play and be super fun to use! I’ll also show you a really high-quality training map that you can use to practice your detonator jumps in TF2! Although this TF2 video guide is mainly going to focus on Detonator jumping, it’s still useful to check out the stats of the Detonator and some different ways that Pyro’s can use it throughout a game. The Pyro's Detonator has a 25% damage penalty compared to the normal Flare Gun, dealing only 23 damage compared to the Flare Gun’s 30 damage, although the Detonator does apply the standard afterburn damage. The Pyro's Detonator only minicrits burning targets for 30 damage instead of critting enemies for 90 damage like the Flare Gun. The Detonator lets us jump around different TF2 maps as the Pyro, which is super fun and opens lots of playstyles and tactics for us to use!
