When and why to use a light bulb for automotive voltage drop testing

In this video, we describe the details of how you can use a headlight bulb to uncover occult resistance in high amperage automotive circuits. We show the performance of an automotive halogen headlight bulb when subjected to variable DC voltage and current with a power supply. The details of how to do voltage drop testing are described, with a discussion of risks and benefits compared to the use of an incandescent test light and LoadPro. Ohm’s law is shown in a graphic way. As mentioned in the video, you never want to test a circuit at higher amperage than the circuit normally handles. Don't be a goof!
