Maytag Presents: Tale Of A Tub - 1958

Maytag charged into the 1950’s with renewed energy under Fred II. He understood the importance of advertising and promotion when radio & TV were beginning to supplant the old ways. TV show sponsorships, major regional sales promos, and ads in all the popular home magazines were just the start. In this period, Maytag came up with several ‘outside the box’ projects, such as this one from 1958. Working with the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, they created a hands-on exhibit covering the history of laundry washing, culminating with a pair of modern-as-tomorrow Maytags.
