How Long Will it Take Me to Get Used to Hearing Aids? | My New Hearing Aid Sounds Like it's Too Loud
How Long Will My New Hearing Aids Sound Unnatural | How Long Will It Take Me to Get Used to My Hearing Aids? If you’re wondering ‘what a new hearing aid sounds like’, ‘how long will my hearing aids sound tinny’ or ‘why do new hearing aids sound loud, tinny, sharp, boomy or echoey?’; then this is the video for you. Some patients do find hearing aids a little overwhelming to start off with and that’s perfectly normal. In this video I’ll go into detail on the sound of new hearing aids, how long your hearing aids will sound unnatural for, and the acclimatisation process that the brain has to go to for your hearing aids to begin to sound normal. It’s perfectly normal for hearing aids to sound unnatural or robotic to start off with, they key with any hearing aids fitting is to have a good relationship with your audiologist and ensure that you explain how the hearing aids sound. You can work together to achieve the best possible hearing with the hearing said that you have been fitted with. This doesn’t happen overnight. If you have had your hearing loss for a significant period of time then it will of course take some time for your brain to acclimatise to this new way of listening. Hearing aids don’t sound natural at first, however your audiologist should work with you to ensure that you have a comfortable journey acclimatising to a new way of listening.
