Considering this truck is normally £1000 RRP, that’s an insane steal. The big question is: does a second-hand buy like this hold up, or is it a risky gamble? That’s exactly what we’re testing today. The Story So Far If you’ve followed my channel, you’ll know I love digging through Facebook Marketplace and finding those hidden RC gems. One man’s “garage clearance” can be another man’s dream truck — and the Super Rock Rey felt like that for me. Aggressive Mad Max looks, 1/6 scale size, and full 8S brushless power… all for less than the price of a brand-new 3S basher. 🤯 But here’s the deal: buying used RCs isn’t always sunshine and rainbows. Sometimes you score big, sometimes you uncover problems. This run is about showing: ✅ What you can expect from a well-bought second-hand truck ✅ Whether the performance still stacks up to a new kit ✅ If bargains like this really make sense for bashers who don’t want to break the bank Also , in the previous video i , Servo swap: removed the tired stock servo, fitted the Vitavon 150kg servo (15T spline), picked the correct horn, and mounted it in the LOSI servo cage upgrade. I show screw choices, orientation, and how I kept the horn perfectly neutral. Mechanical checks: checked the steering link geometry, corrected clevis angle, removed play, and tightened up linkages so steering loads cleanly into the new servo. Electrical & safety: secured the servo wiring, used proper connectors, and talked through the safe voltage options for the Vitavon (7.4–12.4V). I also covered why you might want a separate BEC/UBEC on some setups. Radio setup: centring the servo, trimming, endpoints, sub-trim, setting a sensible dual-rate and expo so the steering isn’t twitchy at full lock.
