ASUS Router - "Your ISP's DHCP does not function properly" QUICK FIX!!!
SP I searched and asked AI for help. This wasted a few hours as I reset the router, swapped firmware versions, removed Merlin add on firmware. The I started testing and swapping cables, resetting both the Comcast SB6190 modem as well as the Verizon FIOS actiontec modem/ONT a few times. All this was caused because Comcast must have had some update recently and if you have 802.1q on your WAN port their DHCP panics. I also swapped SFP+ adapters, so made it even longer. I know these settings work beginning of Oct 2025 because that is when I purchased my BE88U, and I turned this on from day one. Not what I wanted to be doing on my Sunday afternoon. if I help one other person get over this issue then I don't feel it's a total waste. let me know in the comments please 🥺 Dave'O
