Quebec math-rock duo Angine de Poitrine has gone from playing Saguenay venues to selling out shows in New York and London in less than three months — and most of it traces back to a single 27-minute KEXP session filmed at Trans Musicales 2025. Twelve million views later, the reaction-video circuit has covered every angle: the microtonal guitar, the masks, the polka dots, the made-up language. So I'm not going to redo that video. Instead, this is a sound engineer's take on what the rest of the internet keeps missing. Why do the studio records sound so much smaller than the band does live? What is Khn actually doing with the looper that other loop-pedal artists aren't?
