Deafheaven - The Pecan Tree Full Cover

This is my best effort to date. Potentially my favorite song of all time, The Pecan Tree by Deafheaven is a masterclass in writing cathartic blasts, build up, and a post-metal esque release. A perfect closer to a perfect record - idc if my favorite album is my most bland music take. I love Sunbather. I locked the frick in for this and while I am not totally content with the mix (as always), I absolutely gave it all I had, and I think it's my best mix to date (which may not seem too crazy given the lack of full fledged covers/songs on this channel, but I have a lot of original songs on my pc that I try to mix as well). Always trying to learn and improve on my mixes, and I'd like to think that I do, but the time and effort I put into it is not reflective of the outcome unfortunately. I even mic-ed up my old Fender Blues Junior (with a damn blue snowball lmao, I didn't have the Rode at the time) that I maybe play once a year since I swapped to plugins in 2018 for the clean section. I don't think it sounds as good, but it was very entertaining to do so and I'm happy with how it came out. Not all the clean parts are played through it though. I'm very happy with the Rode NT1. I'm not going to glaze or be delusional and say "it fixed my screams!" but it is substantially easier and faster to get a good mix with it than using the snowball as I was using before. One of the things I couldn't get around is taming the low notes on the bass in the outro, no matter if I tuned it sharp or flat that low A would never sound in tune so I gave up unfortunately. To cope I would say the slight dissonance adds a weird flavor to the end, but I'd rather it just stay in tune. Sub-par used bass I regret purchasing... Thank you: Kaonashi, Panopticon, Damian Ojeda, Ostraca, Planning for Burial, Deafheaven, Vildhjarta, To Be Gentle edit: ok as soon as I upload this I start to hear the guitars sounding all artifact-y as if they're going through a phaser and I literally have no idea where it's coming from in my mix process and I never heard it before in my billion demo mixes I rendered. I literally cannot be bothered even though it sounds terrible. I am SO sick of mixing this yall literally have no idea so it is what it is I'll revisit it in like 3 years to make it good or something idk mixing guitars is literally not real no matter what I do and try they never NEVER sound like what they do on records I enjoy. This is why I'm not making these "full covers" for a while I just get too hot headed with my incompetence - I'm actually so annoyed right now it's driving me insane.
