Awesome Trains on EVERY Class I Railroad in the Capital Region!!

11/11/18: Last Sunday we took a trip to the Albany, NY area in hopes of photographing trains on the surrounding railroads... We were VERY successful and managed to see trains on all major railroads through Albany: NS, CP, CSX, and Amtrak... The main goal of this trip was to see NS 1072 the “Illinois Terminal” Heritage Unit. He was supposedly leading NS train 11R, however of the two 11Rs we saw, he was on neither. He ended up finding his way onto the point of NS 23K, which we eventually saw him on. In addition to this we saw CP Albany local D45 in Mechanicville, along with a few CSX Freights on the Mohawk & Selkirk Subs... K682 had two UP GEs and a great engineer which was a nice catch, B788 had the Spirit of Magnolia #454 leading, Q234 had an MP15T trailing and Q560 had an EMD SD70MAC/SD40-3 duo!! Overall, it was an extremely successful day upstate!
