In this Albania travel vlog, I’ll take you through an exciting day exploring one of the most underrated cities in the Balkans. We started our journey in Tirana, navigating the bus system and catching a coach to Shkodër for less than €5! The scenic views from the coach ride were absolutely breathtaking. When we arrived, I was completely shocked by how beautiful Shkodër is, with stunning hotels and a charming atmosphere. Our first stop was our hotel, which we booked for only €18 per night—amazing value for such a lovely place. Next, we visited a chicken kebab shop and tried souvlaki for just €2, and it absolutely blew my mind! The food in Shkodër is so delicious and affordable, and the locals were incredibly kind. One of the highlights of the day was visiting the iconic Rozafa Castle, a must-see destination in Albania. The views from the top were breathtaking, and the castle itself is steeped in history with an incredible aesthetic that left me in awe. While the taxi ride to the castle was a bit overpriced, the experience was completely worth it! Back in Shkodër, we visited the beautiful Abu Bekr Mosque, where we prayed and reflected. Then, we explored a charming street nearby that felt very European and Italian, with its cobblestone paths and stylish cafes. For dinner, we indulged in a traditional Albanian dish featuring ricotta, tomatoes, and meat—it was absolutely our favorite meal of the day! To end the day, we treated ourselves to some delicious cakes from a dessert shop, reflecting on how much we’ve fallen in love with Shkodër, Albania. From the cheap prices to the warm hospitality and stunning attractions, this city has captured our hearts.
