Over the past several years, a lot of the older members of the FNAF community have been feeling less than impressed with the current state of the franchise and more nostalgic for the story, tone, and aesthetic of the original 3-4 games. You would think these “fans” would eventually stop reminiscing about the old days and move on to something more suited to their age. What’s keeping these invested in this franchise that’s been marketed toward children for years at this point? There are several reasons for everything I just mentioned, but one of the biggest contributors is a little thing called FNAF VHS, which drew heavily from another little thing called analog horror.
