Workin' Day And Night - Michael Jackson | KOMA CAMP [KOREA] | Dylan Mayoral Choreography

For me this piece is about freedom of movement and just vibing out to a song you really like and focusing more on the pure inside energy you emit rather than focusing on looking 'good' or 'clean'. I think as dancers we feel a big pressure to look good rather than look/FEEL free. Me personally, when I look at a dancer i'm more interested in the passion and love they show and the intention that drives their movement rather than the movement itself. I think for a long time I had low confidence in myself because I wasn't satisfied with the way I danced, I wanted to be better, cleaner, sharper faster etc. And because of my constant focus on how to LOOK better I lost my focus on how to feel better. Hence why it took me so long to gain the confidence to start freestyling in front of people - but soon I realised that I was limiting myself to freedom and what is real to me. I'm still not 100% there but through a lot of inspiring talks with friends and teachers and spending time with myself I found a good, clear path. You should never be afraid to show who you are or dance a certain way. Embrace your differences and show the world 'YO I LOVE TO DANCE AND THIS IS ME'. Although i'm not ENTIRELY satisfied with my execution in this video, I can say that the feeling of freedom was there and it felt so so so good! This might be one of my favourite pieces that i've ever created and i'm super proud of it! Sharing this piece with the Korean community for the first time was awesome and the students gave me so much love and energy!
