K - 50 drain-cleaning machine smooth and easy motor replacement
I replaced the standard 1/6 HP motor of my K -50 drain - cleaning machine with an off-the-shelf motor which is 5 times cheaper ( $99 versus $500 ) and 50% stronger ( 1/4 HP ) than the factory motor. I surprised myself how easy it was to replace and customize the motor. 4 hours of my time = $400 in my pocket! Plus no waiting time for the part to be shipped here from the factory! Sorry, Ridgid!
