THIS Budget Synth is an Ambient Beast- Sonicware Ambient Zero After Christmas, I saw ads for this synthesizer called “Ambient Zero” from the Japanese company Sonicware. Since I still had some money left over from the sale of my Moog Grandmother, I decided to buy it, which luckily was on sale on that day and they included a free power adapter. While the build quality is plastic and yes, “Toy-like” this synth is a powerhouse! The synth engine, which is proprietary, is deep and it has plenty of sound design tools to create wonderful, lush, soundscapes. I love it, and it’s probably the best $239 I ever spent on.
