The USB C Trick That Powers My Radio

Portable power is the foundation of any serious off grid ham radio kit, and in this video I show how a single Anker 737 power station, a 30W folding solar panel, and a simple USB C trigger cable can run an entire field communications setup with zero access to the grid. I walk through powering a USB C handheld radio directly from the Anker 737, running a Starlink Mini for internet anywhere, and then using a USB C to DC trigger cable to power a QRP HF radio in the field. To close the loop, I demonstrate recharging the Anker 737 from the 30W solar panel so the entire kit becomes self sustaining for extended deployments, field day operations, POTA activations, SOTA, and emergency communications scenarios. This setup is ideal for amateur radio operators, preppers, off grid travelers, overlanders, and anyone building a portable communications go kit. The Anker 737 offers enough capacity to keep multiple devices running for hours, and the USB C trigger cable approach eliminates the need for bulky linear power supplies or dedicated LiFePO4 battery boxes for low power HF work. If you have been looking for a clean, lightweight, and modern way to power your radios in the field, this combination is hard to beat. 🔹My Favorite Gear - https://www.amazon.com/shop/km4ack 🔹Links mentioned in the video Trigger Cable - https://amzn.to/4aBYvSJ Anker 737 - https://amzn.to/4evyy8I Solar Panel - https://amzn.to/42h9WL8 🔹Raspberry Pi Build Guide - http://tiny.cc/pi4guide 🔹Frequently Asked Questions - http://tiny.cc/km4ack-faq 🔹Weekly Newsletter - https://mailchi.mp/40da1fe472e3/km4ac... 🔹Follow Me Twitter @km4ack 🔹FREE Get Started Guide - http://tiny.cc/getstartedguide 🔹Cool Ham Gear - http://km4ack.com 🔹Support the channel through Patreon -   / km4ack   🔹Did you just get a raspberry pi and want to hook it up to your radio?
