🔋TESLA vs ZIMA DEKADY ❄️ (-13℃ | Zakopane | 1200km)

❄️ Tesla in winter on a ~1,200 km route: -13°C, knee-deep snow, and a start with a frozen battery! 🔋 Is a "Tesla in winter" a realistic car for Poland, when the door handle can freeze and the range melts away before your eyes? This is an EV winter test in real-world conditions: Poznań → Zakopane (~600 km) and back, in freezing temperatures (approx. -11°C at night, even -13°C on the road) and after heavy snowfall – about 30 cm of snow fell in Zakopane overnight. I deliberately made this Tesla winter test more difficult: before setting off, I left the garage door open to cool the car down as much as possible and to see how much range a Tesla loses in winter when you start with a cold battery and immediately hit the road. On the first charging stretch, you'll see how the Elektryk can surprise you in winter: the computer calculated the distance with a margin of about 12%, but after a few dozen kilometers, it fell to about 6% – with a momentary consumption of ~26 kWh/100 km (winter consumption can be a real pain with a Tesla Model Y). At the Bielany Wrocławskie Supercharger, the first hard numbers were revealed: ~200 km traveled and an average consumption of about 25 kWh/100 km. For contrast, here's the car's "from new" consumption: about 17 kWh/100 km over a distance of ~33,000 km, so it's easy to see how much winter can increase energy consumption and shorten the actual range. On the road, the topic of preparing the battery for fast charging comes up: the navigation system leads to the Supercharger in Gliwice, and the car begins preconditioning – you can hear the heat pump, feel the vibrations, and increase energy consumption to increase the battery temperature. After arriving at a low SOC (around 9%), we check the temperature it reached (at one point, around 35°C). This translates into the Tesla's charging time on the winter road and the question: How long does a Tesla charge in winter? At one point, the navigation system calculated stops of around 31 minutes on the first charge and around 40 minutes on the second. Beyond the numbers, there are also practical winter "tidbits": a Tesla's door handle freezing (yes, it happened), a Tesla in snow and quickly shoveling snow off its Quick Silver paint with a broom, as well as how the car behaves when temperatures jump from around -12°C to around -2°C. We also see how comfort, stop planning, and safety margins change when conditions get truly unpleasant.
