The birth of the Beatles, where Lennon and McCartney met. The 6th July 1957 was a truly historic day. That's the day that John Lennon and Paul McCartney met. The Quarrymen, John's band, were playing at the Woolton Village Fete. Paul came along to watch the band and they were introduced by mutual friend, Ivan Vaughan. This meeting led to the Beatles and world and music history was changed forever. It would still be some years away that we would see the full line-up of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison. We explore the curious story of Eleanor Rigby and we go to the exact spot that history was made, the exact spot where Lennon and McCartney met for the first time.
