BGE CEO Tamla Olivier on Maryland's Energy Future, Customer Costs & Baltimore | Doni Glover Show

Tamla Olivier is the president and chief executive officer of Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE), a subsidiary of Exelon Corporation. Olivier and her leadership team oversee safety, reliability, customer service, financial performance, and BGE's commitment to delivering value to its customers while fostering an equitable energy transition. BGE is the nation's first gas utility and is currently Maryland’s largest electric and natural gas utility, serving more than 1.3 million electric and 700,000 gas customers in central Maryland. Professional History Starting in 2021, Olivier served as the chief operating officer for Exelon’s Pepco Holdings, the parent company of Atlantic City Electric, Delmarva Power, and Pepco. Olivier and her team were responsible for the three utilities' overall operations. During her tenure, the company achieved record reliability while delivering large-scale infrastructure upgrades, including Pepco’s Waterfront substation and Delmarva Power’s Indian River transmission project, bringing a range of benefits to customers and communities. Prior to her role at Pepco Holdings, Olivier was BGE’s senior vice president of Customer Operations and chief customer officer. In this role, Olivier leveraged relationships across Exelon’s utilities to develop a strategy to provide equitable access to programs and services for customers and communities in the region. Her team focused on creating value for every customer segment, other key stakeholders, and employees. Olivier was also a key member of the Constellation leadership team for 10 years, including time spent as president and chief executive officer of BGE Home, one of the nation’s largest home energy service operations. Before joining Constellation as executive director of Human Resources in 2010, Olivier held leadership roles in human resources and organizational development at T. Rowe Price, United Defense, and Wells Fargo. Civic Involvement Olivier serves on multiple boards, including MedStar Health (where she is a member of the Quality, Safety and Professional Affairs and Finance Committees), Century Aluminum Board as she is Vice Chair of the Governance & Nominating Committee, the Greater Baltimore Committee, Baltimore’s Promise, Baltimore Community Foundation, and the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore. She is Vice Chair of the Maryland Governor’s Workforce Development Board. Education Olivier is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
