Overmoulding carbon fibre tubes with forged carbon fibre in a 3d printed mould
In this video we turn the mitred carbon tubes into a strong structural part using moulded chopped carbon fibres (forged carbon fibre) to make something akin to a metalworking weld. We also chat a little about why I like to use chopped carbon fiber for projects like this. Also thanks to Easy Composites for all of their work getting a bunch of data about forged carbon and other composites - be sure to check out their channel! #cad #3dprinting #carbonfiber #carbonfibre #diy Video Chapters: 00:00 Intro 00:10 CAD modelling the mould box 00:48 Setup and calculating fibre volume 01:55 Layup part 1 02:55 discussion about fiber direction and forged carbon fiber 04:40 Layup part 2 05:35 demoulding and finished part
