Hand Harvesting & Selling 750 Dozen Sweet Corn at 6 Farmers Markets

It’s sweet corn season, and this was one of the biggest harvest we’ve had all year! In today’s video, we’re hand harvesting 750 dozen ears of sweet corn in several hours and packing it all up for six farmers market locations the next morning. I’ll show you what a perfect ear of corn looks and taste like, and take you behind the scenes as we prepare for our biggest sales day of the season. The day wasn’t without its challenges — one of our employees was late to work, throwing a wrench into our morning rush but everything worked out and we were able to sell out at every market, with our local market selling out an hour and a half early. I even had to pick another 20 dozen ears and run it up to restock! We also managed to get our tractor and bushhog stuck in the creek (and yes, we filmed pulling it out!). But despite the chaos, nearly every market sold out early, and this turned into our biggest sales day of the season.
