The KV 2 that never was? Finishing Tamiya's KV2 as an alternate history American/Soviet hybrid.

Welcome to Alternate History 101! In today's lesson, we journey back to Texas, USA, in the spring of 1942. A Lend/Lease KV2 rumbles into an offensive position near Austin, during operations to push a German invasion force back into Mexico. Just months before, as Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, German forces swept thru Mexico into Texas in an attempt to keep the U.S. occupied on two fronts. And, as they say, the rest is history...maybe. Inspiration from Pinterest drove me to this project. I had been wanting to build an alternate history type of vehicle for some time now, and Tamiya's recently re-tooled KV2 fit into my plans. I added extra armor plates, made from sheet styrene, on the chassis and turret, moved the antenna, added a thermal shroud to the main gun, and added .30 cal machine guns in the bow and turret rear. And a .50 cal mounted to the turret roof was the icing on the cake. And then mounted everything on a custom base. This turned out to be a fun and interesting project, and I gained some valuable experience that will be useful in future builds. So I hope you enjoy the video!
