North Wind is a snowy, cold-climate training exercise conducted by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) and the U.S. Army in Hokkaido. The exercise will run from January 22 to February 2, 2026. The exercise was primarily conducted at JGSDF garrisons and training grounds in Hokkaido. Japan's participants included the 11th Brigade and the 10th Rapid Regiment. The U.S. participated in the exercise with the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the 11th Airborne Division and the 3rd Battalion, 509th Infantry Regiment. And this time, for the first time, the Canadian Army participated in the exercise as a platoon. Military Channel 2 was created to provide easy-to-understand explanations to those with little knowledge of the U.S. military, helping them deepen their understanding. While there seems to be some opposition to the explanations, please understand that all videos will continue to include explanations. Also, our narrator, Anne, is a member of our team and was appointed by us. We are also here.
