Antifragility & The Neurodivergent Experience: Does Struggle Make Us Stronger?

Antifragility & The Neurodivergent Experience. Have you ever been told that struggle makes you stronger? In this video, I explore the concept of antifragility and how it relates to the neurodivergent experience. After watching “Don’t Chase Happiness. Become Antifragile” by Tal Ben-Shahar on Big Think, I started thinking about how this idea shows up in the lives of neurodivergent people. Many of us grew up navigating pressure. Masking, sensory overwhelm, social expectations, and often feeling misunderstood. Some of that experience can lead to post-traumatic growth (PTG)… but it can also lead to burnout, exhaustion, and trauma. So where does antifragility actually fit? In this video, we explore: What antifragility really means The difference between growth and burnout Post-traumatic growth and neurodivergence The paradox of happiness The SPIRE model (spiritual, physical, intellectual, relational, emotional wellbeing) Why understanding your nervous system changes everything This is a more nuanced conversation about resilience. One that acknowledges both strength and the cost of getting there. If you’re neurodivergent, late-diagnosed, or just interested in psychology and personal growth, I’d love to hear your thoughts. 💬 Do you feel like your struggles made you stronger… or mostly just exhausted you?    • Don’t chase happiness. Become antifragile ...   Free ways you can show your support 💕 ➡️SUBSCRIBE to the channel ➡️LIKE the videos that are helpful to you ➡️COMMENT in the comment section ➡️Click the “bell” to be notified when I release new videos    / @michelleunmasked   **Disclaimer: The videos contained on this channel are for general education and entertainment purposes only and do not constitute professional advice.
