The Impossible Landing at Gallipoli: 25. April 1915 (WW1 Documentary)

Just after dawn on 25th April 1915, under the cover of a formidable naval bombardment, thousands of British troops made their way towards land. In front of them, entrenched along these cliffs, Ottoman riflemen waited, poised to defend their homeland at all costs. It was the beginning of a brutal fight which would last for 8 months and cost tens of thousands of lives. The Gallipoli Association: By becoming a member, you will have the opportunity of meeting like-minded people to learn, share and exchange information and knowledge of the Gallipoli campaign in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Formed by Gallipoli veterans in 1969, their key focus today is education. By raising public awareness of the Gallipoli Campaign, encouraging and facilitating study, their aim is to keep the memory of the campaign alive, ensuring that all who served in it, and those who gave their lives, are not forgotten.
