Spread over approximately 210–213 km, it has significantly reduced travel time from about 6–7 hours to nearly 2.5 hours, making travel faster, safer, and more comfortable. The expressway features high-quality pavement, grade-separated interchanges, modern safety systems, bridges, underpasses, and advanced traffic management facilities. It is designed to improve connectivity between Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand while boosting tourism, trade, and regional development. Special Feature: 12-km Elevated Wildlife Corridor One of the most remarkable features of the expressway is the 12-km Elevated Wildlife Corridor, considered among the longest wildlife corridors in Asia. Built through the eco-sensitive region near the Rajaji National Park, the elevated structure allows elephants, deer, leopards, jackals, and other wildlife to move safely beneath the road. The corridor includes animal underpasses, elephant crossings, noise barriers, and light-control measures to minimize disturbance to wildlife. This unique engineering achievement demonstrates how infrastructure development and environmental conservation can coexist. दिल्ली–देहरादून एक्सप्रेसवे भारत की एक अत्याधुनिक, एक्सेस-कंट्रोल्ड सड़क परियोजना है, जो दिल्ली और देहरादून को तेज, सुरक्षित और सुविधाजनक यात्रा से जोड़ती है। लगभग 210–213 किलोमीटर लंबे इस एक्सप्रेसवे ने यात्रा समय को लगभग 6–7 घंटे से घटाकर केवल 2.5 घंटे कर दिया है। उत्कृष्ट सड़क गुणवत्ता, आधुनिक इंटरचेंज, पुल, अंडरपास, उन्नत सुरक्षा सुविधाएँ तथा बेहतर यातायात प्रबंधन इसकी प्रमुख विशेषताएँ हैं। यह एक्सप्रेसवे दिल्ली, उत्तर प्रदेश और उत्तराखंड के बीच संपर्क, पर्यटन, व्यापार तथा क्षेत्रीय विकास को नई गति प्रदान करता है। विशेष आकर्षण: 12 किमी एलिवेटेड वाइल्डलाइफ कॉरिडोर इस एक्सप्रेसवे की सबसे अनूठी विशेषता 12 किलोमीटर लंबा एलिवेटेड वाइल्डलाइफ कॉरिडोर है, जो एशिया के सबसे लंबे वन्यजीव गलियारों में से एक माना जाता है। Rajaji National Park के संवेदनशील वन क्षेत्र से गुजरने वाले इस कॉरिडोर को इस प्रकार बनाया गया है कि हाथी, हिरण, तेंदुआ, सियार तथा अन्य वन्यजीव सड़क के नीचे सुरक्षित रूप से आवागमन कर सकें। इसमें पशु अंडरपास, हाथी मार्ग, नॉइज़ बैरियर और विशेष प्रकाश नियंत्रण प्रणाली लगाई गई है, जिससे वन्यजीवों को न्यूनतम व्यवधान हो। यह परियोजना आधुनिक विकास और पर्यावरण संरक्षण के उत्कृष्ट संतुलन का उदाहरण है।
