Hidden deep in the woodland near The Wrekin in Shropshire lies a strange and little-known place known as Dairy Pit. This dark forest pool has long been surrounded by local folklore, with stories suggesting the area is riddled with spirits and unexplained activity. Some believe the pool may have formed from an old mining bell pit, while others say the location has a much darker history. The strange mounds surrounding the water and the eerie silence of the forest have helped build a reputation for Dairy Pit as one of the most mysterious and unsettling spots near the Wrekin. In this video I return to the pool after dark to spend the night camping beside the water and exploring the woods around it. With the forest completely silent and the water hidden beneath a thick green surface, it’s easy to understand how this place became the focus of so many strange stories. Is Dairy Pit simply an abandoned flooded pit in the woods… or could there be something more to the legends surrounding it?
