Also, while the smooth weight adjustment dial system is said to have some plastic parts and be a weak point, these Eisenlink dumbbells are made entirely of metal, so I feel they're safe in that respect. The plates are hooked onto screw heads and then finally secured with a screw, which raises questions about the strength of the innermost screw head. However, they've passed load-bearing tests, and the manufacturer has responded that there are no complaints about a 65kg model in China, so there are no concerns about strength. Other concerns I had were the grip width and knurling. The width is 17.5cm, which is 1cm wider than the Iron Master, so this may be a concern until you get used to it. Personally, I prefer a narrower width, so this may be a concern for some people. Also, the knurling is powder coated over the knurling, so it's not noticeable. I think it's best to think of it as a pattern. Since it only goes up to 36kg, I don't think it has much of an impact, but since it has knurling, I think it would be better to use a plating finish rather than a powder coating.
