OMSI 2 - Coachbus 250 DLC

The Ikarus 250 was the first model of the 200 series. It was presented at the Budapest International Fair (BNV) in 1967. Designed by László Finta (1934-2018), the idea behind the new series was to create a versatile family of buses that can be easily modified to be sufficient as a city, a suburban or coach vehicle. Such concepts were not widely used in the late 1960s. The prototypes were participating on a number of international events and contests and won quite a few awards. The series went into mass production in 1970. In 1984 the last variant was introduced, but since 1991 only a small number of 250s left the factory. The production ended in 1996. The 250.59 subtype was made for the Hungarian Volán companies and for the Soviet Union. It was also the most popular model of the 250 series.
