Don't Buy This 10A Volt Ammeter Until You See This!#Electronics #BenchPowerSupply #DIY

This video was supposed to be another step toward building my high-current lab bench power supply... but things didn't go as planned. 😅 I bought a cheap 10A volt/amp meter expecting it to work properly, but I quickly discovered something strange. Instead of using a proper low-resistance shunt like the older version, this newer model uses an 18mΩ shunt resistor that becomes extremely hot, even around 7A. To solve the problem, I experimented by adding a 10mΩ resistor in series to increase the power handling and reduce the heat. It definitely improved the situation, but the shunt still gets hot. What surprised me even more is that this newer meter no longer includes the calibration presets ( current adjustment) that the older version had. The previous model used a much better shunt design and allowed proper calibration, making it a far better product in my opinion. And to make things even worse... while stress-testing my power supply, I accidentally burned one of my SMPS units. 💀 Because of that, the full lab bench power supply project (25A+ output) will be delayed for a little while. I wanted to explain why there haven't been many uploads recently and share what has been happening behind the scenes. Thanks for sticking with me and supporting my experiments. Every mistake teaches something new, and I'll keep improving the project until it's ready. #Electronics #BenchPowerSupply #DIY If you've experienced the same issue with these volt/amp meters, let me know in the comments! #Electronics #DIY #BenchPowerSupply #PowerSupply #Voltmeter #Ammeter #ShuntResistor #SMPS #CircuitDesign #ElectronicsRepair #Engineering #DIYElectronics #LabPowerSupply #Troubleshooting #SaifJalalExperiments
