In 1961, he began his studies at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He later earned a master's degree from the Pittsburgh Seminary and degrees from the Free University of Amsterdam and Whitefield Theological Seminary. In 1965, he was ordained to the ministry. There, he founded the Ligonier Valley Study Center, where students attended to learn theology, apologetics, Church history, and philosophy. His most iconic work is perhaps The Holiness of God, a brilliant study of the character of God. His work and service to the Church have influenced pastors, leaders, and believers around the world. R. C. served at Saint Andrew's in Florida as co-pastor since 1997. He has been considered one of the most distinguished teachers and writers of our time. He was a brilliant man who fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith by proclaiming it boldly. R. C. Sproul went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2017.
