In this special episode, we welcome two of Japan’s most respected recording engineers, Tamotsu Yoshida and Koji Morimoto from JAREC (Japan Recording Engineers Association). The concept is simple: How much can an audio engineer change the sound of a song? Both engineers independently recorded the same song and then created their own mix. Starting from the mixing stage, each engineer was given a 90-minute time limit to complete their work while we observed their process in real time. This project offers a rare opportunity to compare two professional approaches to recording and mixing. By listening to both versions side by side, you can hear how different decisions, techniques, and philosophies influence the final sound—even when working from the exact same source material.
