(S4:EP8) THE IRON ROSES-Signal Chords “Home of The Underground” Podcast!
🗯Welcome to (S4:EP8) of the Signal Chords "Home of The Underground" podcast featuring @TheIronRoses (Natasha & Becky) 🤝 Presented by 1603 Designs The interview kicks off with Becky and Natasha balancing the good stress and chaos of packing for an imminent East Coast tour with punk legends the Subhumans, which includes a highly anticipated stop at the intimate Will’s Pub in Orlando, Florida. Natasha shares a deeply personal, full-circle moment, recalling how the Subhumans' album The Day the Country Died completely rearranged her brain as a teenager. The duo expresses immense excitement about playing with a band that shaped their youth, noting how surreal it feels to share the stage with their idols decades later. Looking ahead to the tour, the band plans to deliver short, explosive 35-minute sets designed to win over unfamiliar crowds with a straight punch of energy. Their upcoming album, Molotov Nights—set for release on August 6—is a lean 26 minutes long, a runtime Natasha jokingly attributes to her ADHD and describes as the perfect length for a daily commute. This new record represents a deliberate shift toward a more aggressive, old-school punk chant vibe, utilizing their recent 2025 singles as a sonic bridge to transition fans away from the heavy reggae and ska influences of their self-titled debut. The duo dives into their "chaotic" songwriting process, emphasizing strict quality control where they discard dozens of songs to ensure only the most impactful, emotionally charged tracks make the cut. They highlight the evolution of their dual-vocal dynamic over their 15-year friendship and credit their bandmate and producer, Pedro, with shaping their massive wall of sound—even teasing a surprise banjo appearance on the new record. Following their current run, The Iron Roses are preparing for a massive autumn blitz, featuring a two-and-a-half-week US release tour in September followed immediately by a whirlwind tour across Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, and Switzerland.
