Little Doc O Lena A.K.A Cody

19 Year Old AQHA Gelding for Sale, Southern Colorado ❤️🐴 Meet Cody, a 19 year old registered AQHA bay gelding with Doc O'Lena bloodlines. He stands sound with no lameness and has one of the best personalities you could ask for. He is a true western all around horse who has genuinely done it all. Cody has worked cows, spent plenty of time on the trails, and done lessons with both kids and adults. He would be a wonderful fit for someone who wants to get out on the trails a couple of times a week, do some light work on cows, or for a confident young rider looking to do light gymkhana or showing. He is forward moving and easy to get into a trot and canter. He has good endurance and can go out on the trails for hours or do a lot of arena work with no issues, but he is not the type who is going to run and run and run, so there is no worry about him taking off with you. He loves to have a job. Just as important is who he is on the ground and under saddle. Cody is an extremely broke horse. You can walk under him anywhere and lay all over him, and nothing rattles him. He has never offered anything dangerous. He does not buck, bolt, bite, rear, or kick. He stands quietly to be mounted and dismounted, and he is not spooky. He is good with other horses too, though he can be a bit of a grumpy old man toward them at times, but all he really seems to do is pin his ears. He is an easy keeper who lives happily in a mixed pasture right now, and he loves to be loved on. He stands tied with his lead rope simply wrapped around the pole a couple of times, and he is good to lead, brush, and bathe. You can clean his nostrils and eyes, check his mouth, and stretch him out with no problem. He tacks up easily, stands for the farrier, and loads without any fuss. He is just a good, older, broke horse who has plenty of good years left in him. He has been in light work the past few years because his owner has two horses and simply does not have the time to give both the attention they deserve. She is ready for Cody to go to a home that can get better use out of him and give him the love and the job he is ready for. He still has so much to give the right person. Cody is very well broke and has done lessons with beginners in a supervised setting, so he is not a mean or unpredictable horse in any way. That said, he is forward and has his buttons, and he is going to move out when you cue him. For that reason he is best suited to a confident rider, or a beginner working under the guidance of a trainer or instructor, rather than a nervous first timer heading out on their own. For the right person, he is a wonderful partner. He is located in southern Colorado, Fremont County. Priced at mid to high $X,XXX, but flexible for the perfect home. Finding his forever person matters more than the price. If you or someone you know might be interested, please reach out or share this post. Happy to answer any questions or set up a time to come meet him. 🐎
