Jubileo Franciscano 2026-2027: qué es el Año de San Francisco en Asís

From January 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027, Assisi becomes the heart of the Jubilee Year dedicated to Saint Francis. Eight hundred years after his death, the Saint of Assisi speaks once again to the world with his timeless message of peace, fraternity, and forgiveness. At the center of the celebrations is the Porziuncola, housed in the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels, a symbolic site of the "Pardon of Assisi" and of the plenary indulgence granted for this Jubilee Year. It is an invitation to pause, to listen, and to rediscover authentic relationships. The program includes liturgical and cultural events, a national congress on the dignity of death, the Interreligious Day of Peace on October 27, and, on August 6, a meeting of young Europeans with Pope Leo XIV. For those unable to travel to Assisi, it will also be possible to experience the Jubilee through the "San Francisco Digital" app. A path open to all, believers and non-believers, under the sign of peace and universal fraternity.
