The Clock's Secret: Jan's Downfall Exposed | Hitchcock Presents
Amidst the wreckage, Jan discovers the burnt remains of the unusual clock. Frank Voss, an insurance adjuster, arrives to assess the claim. He questions Jan about her large inventory and, despite her attempts to implicate Mel, subtly reveals that he knows the truth. Voss explains that the clock's timer activated the hotplate, causing the fire, and exposes Jan's intention to blame a 'burglar'. Cornered, Jan desperately claims it was an accident due to a wrongly set timer, but Voss remains unconvinced.
