¿Qué es la Producción Audiovisual, fases y roles?

Production is the process of creating a film, encompassing everything from pre-production to editing and subsequent distribution. The producer is the person who believes in the idea and secures the necessary resources to make the film. Their main responsibilities include budgeting and finding financing, assembling the necessary talent, planning all aspects of filming, and securing distribution agreements for the finished product. ---- INDEX ---- 0:00 Intro 0:20 What is Audiovisual Production? 0:30 Who is the Producer and their Functions? 0:49 Production Roles 1:22 Pre-Production Stage 3:07 Production Stage 3:58 Post-Production Stage 4:45 Distribution and Screening Stage 5:08 Production Awards 5:22 Best Films According to IMDb But production isn't a one-person job. We have the executive producer, the production manager, the production supervisor, the production assistants, those in charge of purely administrative tasks, the casting directors, among others. Today I will give a very brief summary of the three stages of filming, which are related to the producer's work. PRE-PRODUCTION After the idea is conceived and the script is written, other elements come into play to make the film. These are the following, although not necessarily in this order, as many are done simultaneously to move everything forward as quickly as possible. Casting takes place to define the actors and/or actresses, both primary and secondary, and extras; locations are scouted and the necessary permits are obtained to carry out the filming; rehearsals begin both to prepare the actors and to determine the camera placement and lighting needed during the scene. PRODUCTION In the second stage, which we know as production, filming or recording begins. Although there are different types of shoots, this stage is generally the shortest. This is because it's during pre-production that everything necessary is planned to ensure nothing is lacking during filming. Here, the shooting schedule and call sheets must be followed meticulously, as time is money, and locations and equipment rentals have expiration dates. Everything generates expenses, and these must be taken into account. Attention to detail is crucial to ensure everything goes as planned, that each shot has a logical sequence; for example, if in one shot the subject appears with a watch on their right hand, in the next shot they cannot appear with the watch on the other hand. The work of the script supervisor or the still photographer is very important here. POST-PRODUCTION Finally, we arrive at the last stage: post-production. This is where all the recorded material is edited and shaped. Sound, color grading, sound and visual effects, music, and credits are all addressed. This stage is usually very time-consuming, as many decisions are made here. The film can change considerably once editing begins. Scene errors that can't be reshot due to time constraints, contracts, and other factors appear and must be resolved on the fly. Should they be cut or kept? Does the edit still make sense? Many questions arise. That's why pre-production must consider everything to avoid problems later on. After this comes the distribution and screening stage, which can be seen as a fourth stage or as part of post-production. This is where the finished work is promoted, festivals to submit it to are evaluated, as well as the theaters where it will be shown. It's also determined whether it will be released only online (on YouTube, for example), broadcast on television, or on streaming services like Netflix. At the Oscars, the producer's work is rewarded with the highest honor: the Oscar for Best Picture. After this overview, I'd like to recommend the five best films, according to IMDb users, the largest database for movies and TV series. Every element you'll find in these films helps the story move forward. Set design, acting, cinematography, costumes, makeup, sound, editing, and direction come together to create an enviable whole. The films are: The Shawshank Redemption, based on a novel by Stephen King; The Godfather Parts 1 and 2; The Dark Knight; 12 Angry Men; and Schindler's List.
