In terms of design, the "M" is certainly more advanced – comments that arose during the use of the first modifications have been taken into account. Most importantly, it handles the tape more gently: smoother acceleration when rewinding (due to slippage of the intermediate belt); higher rewind speed due to a modified gear ratio; smoother braking due to a modified brake design. Furthermore: input pin connectors have been replaced with more modern DIN-5 standard ones; an input selector is provided for quick signal source selection; newer components have been used, resulting in improved electrical and acoustic parameters (the front speaker is now larger and more powerful); a dual-gap erase head ensures deeper erasure of old recordings; a bias generator frequency almost doubled, eliminating high-frequency interference during high-quality recording at 19th speed; the design has been improved with a more formal color scheme and greater symmetry in the top panel. SUMMARY: overall, the device was significantly improved, but was not produced for long afterward, giving way to a transistorized plastic blandness... Too bad ))) reel-to-reel vacuum tube tape recorder
