Renault 9 GTD | Coches CLÁSICOS | Review en español | #Autocasión
The Renault 9 is the only car that, at the time of its launch, managed to win the Car of the Year title in Spain, Europe, and the US, a justified success. 👉SUBSCRIBE TO OUR CHANNEL!👈 https://bit.ly/2OCYftY Renault finally placed the front engine in a transverse position and with the transmission extended, which allowed for better use of interior space. The suspension was also updated, and the Renault 9 (and its 5- and 3-door sister, the R-11) achieved significant sales success at a financially difficult time for the brand. Introduced in late 1981 and marketed in 1982, the R-9 turns 40, and it's a good time to pay tribute to what became the best-selling diesel on the market for several years in Spain, especially among taxi drivers, who valued its reliability and comfort. The Renault 9 was designed by Robert Opron, who, after designing the SM, GS, Ami 8, and CX for Citroën, joined Renault and was responsible for models such as the Alpine A310 and the Renault Fuego, some of whose features can also be seen in the R-11, such as the rear windshield. The Renault 9 stood out for its comfort, with a spacious cabin for the vehicle's dimensions and very soft seats and suspension. The suspension was also a breakthrough for the brand, which was finally able to design a completely symmetrical car, unlike the R-4, R-5, R-6, R-7, and R-16, which, due to the shape of the rear torsion bars, had a shorter wheelbase on one side than the other. The R-9 features coil springs on the front axle and a new torsion bar design on the rear axle, finally making the car symmetrical, which improved its road holding. To celebrate these 40 years of the model's history, we've brought a Renault 9 GTD to our channel, taking advantage of the fact that it was the best-selling diesel in its day. Many thanks to Juan, its owner, for lending it to us for this video; without him, it wouldn't have been possible. 00:00 Intro 01:20 History and Design 07:59 Trunk 08:10 Engine 08:57 Interior 11:10 Rear Seats 12:11 On the Road 15:20 Fuel Consumption 18:05 The Best and the Worst 20:02 Farewell You can watch the report on the Renault 9 here: https://www.autocasion.com/actualidad...
