In this video, I share my opinion on one of the most controversial decisions in PlayStation's recent history: the end of physical media for new games starting in 2028 🫨 The official justification is the growing public preference for the digital format, but does this change really benefit those who matter most: the gamer? 🤔 The truth is that this decision concentrates even more power in Sony's hands. Without the competition from physical media, the used market, and the freedom to choose where to buy, we, the consumers, will become increasingly dependent on the PlayStation digital store. Furthermore, it's difficult to imagine that the savings generated by the end of disc manufacturing and distribution will be passed on to the public 😞😞 Even though digital media is now the choice of most, this doesn't mean that physical media should disappear. It remains important for collectors, for those who buy and resell used titles, and for those who simply prefer to have a physical copy. It would have been perfectly possible to keep both options available, but Sony's greed got the better of them... 🤷‍♂️ And you, what do you expect from the future of gaming?
