Skyrover X1: What Not to do When Flying a Drone.

This is video filmed this time by the Skyrover X1. I haven't flown this drown since getting the DJI Mini 5 Pro, so I decided to give it a whirl. I refer to this drone as the Bumblebee since it is yellow and black. It is alleged to be a DJI Mini 4 Pro in disguise although it is missing some of the features of that drone. During this flight I committed a cardinal sin of flying a drone: not checking the wind conditions. It was very windy here, but it seemed similar to how it was here last week when I flew the Mini 5 Pro (   • DJI Mini 5 Pro:  Cumming City Center and S...  ). So I figured, what the heck. Wrong! Always check your weather app. So, I flew to one of my usual spots. As I pointed the gimbal straight down and turned right (2:07 in the video), there is a sudden jerk of the drone. I continue forward and then that jerk occurs again until I place the gimbal in the normal position. As I flew over the soccer fields, the speed dramatically decreased to around 6-9 mph as I was flying into the wind. I am struggling to get the drone back to where I launched as the battery was draining. I attempted to use Return to Home which brings the drone back to the launching spot, but as it was descending, it was way off target. The drone was bouncing all over the place. I didn't have a camera to show how dramatically the drone was bouncing around but I thought it was going to land in a pond. I stop the automated landing procedure and manually landed the drone. It was a real struggle as it took about 5 minutes to land safely. Other than the two sudden jerks, the image stabilization was amazing all things considered. But the big lesson: check the weather before flying. After landing, I check the UAV weather app which stated the winds were over 30 mph above ground level.The X1 only has a wind resistance of 23.9. This could have been a lot worse, but I walk away with a valuable lesson. If I had checked the wind, I would have flown a bigger drone that could withstand that type of wind or just not flown at all.
