Ballymun Buses | September 2024

A video showing buses in Ballymun (north Dublin), recorded in September 2024. Ballymun is located on the northern edge of Dublin city. It is bounded on the north by the M50 motorway, to the east by Santry (   • Santry Buses | April 2022  ), to the south by Glasnevin, and to the west by Finglas (   • Finglas Buses | April 2023  ). It has been over a year since the last visit to Ballymun (   • Ballymun Buses | May 2022  ), and there has been some changes to the bus network, with more to come. Since the last visit, route 17A has ceased to operate. Under Bus Connects, it has been replaced by route N6 which runs between Kilbarrack and Finglas. Like the 17A, this is operated by Go-Ahead Ireland. They also still operate route 220, the other orbital route that serves Ballymun. The main routes between Dublin city centre and Ballymun are the 4, 13 and 155. These are all operated by Dublin Bus, but are due to be replaced before the end of 2024 by the new E-Spine routes under Bus Connects. Another change between the previous visit and this one, is the increase in the number of PA Class buses that appear on route 13. This class dominates all three city routes in this video. Finally, a Bus Eireann SP Class makes a brief appearance in this video on driver training duties.
