In 2022, during a peace pilgrimage across India, a group of Vietnamese-American Buddhist monks noticed something unusual… 👉 A dog quietly following them. Through pain… through hunger… through exhaustion… he kept coming back. 💔 He was hit by a car 😢 He became seriously ill 🚶‍♂️ He fell behind many times But no matter what happened… Aloka always returned to the walk. Seeing his determination, the monks adopted him… and gave him a name: ✨ Aloka — meaning light They brought him to the United States… where his journey would become something even bigger. 🚶‍♂️ On October 26, 2025, a group of 19 Buddhist monks began a historic journey: 👉 A 2,300-mile Walk for Peace 👉 From Fort Worth, Texas → Washington, D.C. And Aloka… walked with them 🐾 Sometimes on foot… sometimes resting in a support vehicle… but always part of the mission. ❤️ With a unique heart-shaped mark on his forehead, Aloka quickly captured the hearts of thousands online. But his journey wasn’t easy… 💔 In January 2026, Aloka suffered a serious leg injury in South Carolina. 👉 Diagnosed with a CCL tear 👉 Underwent major TPLO surgery For days… he couldn’t walk properly. His movement was limited… his journey almost came to an end. But Aloka didn’t quit. With careful recovery… short walks… and constant care… 🐾 He returned. On Day 89… he reunited with the monks ❤️ And on February 10, 2026… Aloka walked the final steps of the journey. 💭 This is not just a dog story.
