On Saturday, market vendor André Kolenbrander was surprised by his colleagues at the Botermarkt (Botter Market). Kolenbrander began his career at the market seventy years ago—reason enough to put him in the spotlight. "I inquired with the Central Association for Itinerant Trade, and according to them, Kolenbrander is currently the longest-serving market vendor in the Netherlands. Seventy years at the market—that's something they rarely, if ever, see," Jaap Waasdorp explains enthusiastically.
