Are Sony SLT cameras a good value?

Sony released 12 Single Lens Translucent (SLT) digital cameras from 2010 to 2016. All of the Sony Alpha cameras use the A-mount, that was originally created by Minolta for 35mm film SLRs. SLT cameras use translucent mirror technology to have phase detection auto focus and an electronic viewfinder. Phase detection autofocus is better than the contrast detection focusing used in the mirrorless camera competition. For video recording, the electronic viewfinder can be used, where an optical viewfinder would be blacked out. Like current cameras, the live view shown in the viewfinder can preview image exposure. I think the Sony Alpha APS-C cameras are a better value than comparable Nikon and Canon DSLRs. 7 of the Sony Alpha cameras have a proprietary flash shoe, 2 have plastic lens mounts, and 2 are full frame.
